For the Hindu community of the DC area, Rajdhani Mandir is an oasis. It is a place where people come to be with God, to relax, to spend some time away from the interstates and the shopping malls. They get all that in the serene, wooded surroundings of the Mandir, and its vast, well-lighted, and quiet prayer hall. People come to Rajdhani Mandir to quench their spiritual thirst.
The Mandir is committed to fulfilling the religious needs of all members of the Hindu/Jain community in the area. A full spectrum of poojas, abhiskekams are scheduled over the weekend. Please see the regularly scheduled pooja and weekend schedule for more details.
The Mandir celebrates all major Hindu festivals, including Holi, Janmashtami, Diwali, Shivratri, and Navratri. To make it the community focal point that people want it to be, the Mandir sponsors various cultural programs with reputed artists. In the past, programs have included bhajan concerts, Hindustani and Carnatic classical music concerts, and Indian dances. A children’s cultural program is part of every festival celebration. It gives the children an opportunity to show off their talent and to mingle with other kids as well. To maintain the importance and impact of our religion and cultural heritage on the future generation, the Mandir holds religion classes every Sunday for children.
