About Temple

Our Core Vision and Mission

The mission of Missouri Ganesha Temple is to help people achieve Shanthi: a state of consciousness that comes through shedding all outward self-definitions. Consequently, the temple seems to create a center that welcomes all sincere seekers, regardless of race, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, or disability. We are committed to providing an inclusive, welcoming environment for everyone to pursue the search for Shanthi.

MAIN DEITIES

The temple includes shrines of Maha Ganapathi, Abeeshta Kapileshwara, Raja Rajeshwari, Karthikeya, & Lakshmi Venkateswara

Shri Maha Ganapathi

Ganesha (also spelled Ganesa or Ganesha and known as Ganapati, Vinayaka and Pillaiyar) is the Lord of Good Fortune who provides prosperity, fortune and success. He is the Lord of Beginnings and the Remover of Obstacles of both material and spiritual kinds. Interestingly, he also places obstacles in the path of those who need to be checked. Because of these attributes, Ganesh is widely revered by almost all castes and in all parts of India, regardless of spiritual affiliations. His image is found everywhere, in many different forms, and he is invoked before commencing any undertaking.

GODDESS Shri Raja Rajeshwari

Goddess Raja Rajeshwari is worshipped by Shaktism and Shaivism. She is revered at Vindhyavasini, near the Ganges, where the Vindhyas Mountains meet the sacred river Ganges. As Raja Rajeshwari, or Mother of the universe, she assumes cosmic proportions, destroying evil and addressing herself to the creation and dissolution of the worlds. She is worshiped by thousands of names that often reflect local customs and legends.
