H. H. 17th Karmapa
Diamond Way Buddhism provides easy access to authentic Buddhist teachings and meditations for use in contemporary life. The goal of Buddhism is the full development of mind — the state of timeless, unconditional happiness known as enlightenment. To bring us to this state, Buddhism points us to lasting values in this impermanent world and gives us valuable information about how things really are.
Through understanding the law of cause and effect, using practical tools like meditation to gain insight and to develop compassion and wisdom, we — all of us — can tap into our potential to realize the ultimate goal of enlightenment.
ABOUT THE CENTER
The Diamond Way Buddhist Center New York is part of an international network of over 600 lay Diamond Way Buddhist meditation centers of the Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, founded by Hannah and Lama Ole Nydahl according to the wishes of H.H. the 16th Karmapa. They are now under the spiritual guidance of H.H. the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Trinley Thaye Dorje.
Diamond Way Buddhism offers practical and effective methods to realize mind’s inherent richness for the benefit of all. With an accessible and modern style, it works with people’s confidence and desire, using every situation in life to develop fearlessness and joy. Our centers are run on the basis of idealism and friendship by members who incorporate the teachings and meditations into their work and family lives.
