A visit to Tipu Sultan’s Death Place is recommended to all tourists headed towards Srirangapatna. The body of the deceased Tipu Sultan, the ruler of Mysore, was recovered at this place. A stone tablet was installed at the spot by Colonel Wellesley in order to demarcate the area where the illustrious ruler’s body was found. The site where Tipu Sultan’s body was found in the fort, Water Gate, is still in good condition.
