This Lake Stores the water from Noyaal river and distributes to the other lakes in the surrounding lakes of Coimbatore;
The noyyal river floods during the monsoon; so as it winds it way down coimbatore, the water is stored in several tanks(lakes); As a result the water that goes down noyyal is reduced and the stored water helps agriculture and replenish ground water;
