Led by Central Zoo Authority of India, the Nehru Zoo Park has taken up several conservation breeding programmes including Mouse Deers and Vultures breeding in ex-situ conditions. Our team succeeded in breeding the Marsh Crocodiles and moved them into their natural habitat.
Additionally, the zoo has successfully bred many endangered species like Asiatic Lion, Royal Bengal Tiger, Rhinoceros, Elephant, Nilgiri Langur, Lion tailed Macaque, Black Buck, Spotted Deer, Sambar Deer, Nilgai, Pelican, Python, Green Iguana , Chameleon , Soft shelled Turtle along with animals like Chimpanzee, Jaguar, Baboons, Hippopotamus, and Pheasants.
