Sri Sharadamba Temple, SVBF North center in USA is dedicated to the centuries old Dakshinamnaya Sringeri Sharada Peetham established by Saint Adi Shankara and is committed to its following and traditions under the guidance of Jagadguru Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji and Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati swamiji. SVBF
Sringeri Vidya Bharati Foundation Inc (SVBF) is established as an international extension of the ancient Sringeri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri, Karnataka, India and is incorporated as non-profit religious and charitable organization in USA with 4 centers – the 1st is located in Stroudsburg, PA and others to-be locates in Houston…, TX and San Diego, CA.
SVBF North – Brief History
Previously called SVBF Midwest, now renamed SVBF North was established in Michigan in 2006. The center has been functioning since 2012 located on a 8.5 acres in the midst of Farmington Hills in an old building up until recently. The new temple construction started in the summer of 2018 and the Pratisthapana and Kumbhabhisekam were performed in July 2019. With 17000 sq.ft of built up area the facility covers the Temple hall with all shrines and a spacious community hall with kitchen. There is parking space provisioned for 190+ vehicles.
Temple Shrines
All the shrines are sculpted according to the Shilpa Sastras by highly dedicated shilpis from India who have done very intricate work inside and outside. The main sanctum have three Shrines with Sri Sharadamba in Panchaloka, the presiding deity at the cente along with Adi Shankara and Chandramouleeswara with Nandikeswara and with a Parayana Mandapam. Other shrines are – Mahaganapathy, Dakshinamurthy, Subramanya Valli Devasena, Durga, Chandikeswara, Bhavani, Anjaneya, Navagraha, Krishna & Rama parivar. shrine for Shiva Panchayatana is very unique, representing oneness in all the various deities with Lord Shiva surrounded by Aditya (Surya), Sakthi (Devi), Vishnu (Narayana) and Ganapathy.
Priests
All Temple priests are well qualified from the Sringeri Traditions and well trained in performing various religious activities. Priests are provided with on-site living quarters of 10000 sq.ft of Apartment space behind the temple. A exclusive Shradh Bhavan facility is available to serve the community where a family can perform Pitru Karyas ( Ancestoral ceremonies)
Goshala
Following the Ahimsa traditions, a Goshala (Cow sanctuary) has been established in Stroudsburg, PA that supply Milk and Milk products exclusively to our temple for Abhishekam and other religious use. Hence it is the Temple policy not to accept commercial store purchased milk from the devotees. We encourage devotees to donate Flowers and Fruits.
Sringeri Vidya Bharati Foundation (SVBF) is established as an international extension of the ancient Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri, Karnataka State, India.
It is incorporated as a non-profit religious and charitable organization in the USA. The Foundation functions under the direct guidance of the Jagadguru Sankaracharya, His Holiness Sri Sri Bharati Theertha Mahaswamigal of the Sringeri Sharada Peetham.
Its name combines the names of Swami Bharati Theertha, the presiding Jagadguru of Sringeri, and His Guru, Swami Abhinava Vidyatheertha. The word Vidya means “knowledge” and Bharati means “Sharada, the Goddess of all learning”. This is the first affiliated Sankara Mutt of Sringeri outside India.
SVBF is extremely committed to foster our Sanatana Dharma among global communities in general, and in the Continental United States in particular. Towards that goal, SVBF North has been established at 26325 Halsted Road, Farmington Hills, MI 48331 to serve the devotees in the states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
Adi Sankara – The Missionary
The focus of Sanatana Dharma over the centuries, has always been peace and harmony among all of nature’s creations.
Every practitioner of this Dharma owes it to Sri Adi Sankara for His contributions in the reestablishment of this ancient tradition.

Our Mission
To follow and propagate the authentic practice of our Vedic culture as prescribed in the scriptures and guided by the unbroken tradition of the Sringeri Sankaracharya Mutt.

Rituals that are based on the scriptures and their significance in day-to-day life.
Philosophy, by appropriate tools of education and research.
To support Veda Patasalas and encourage Vedic priesthood. To actively participate in humanitarian, charitable community services, in accordance with the prescriptions of our Dharma.
WORKING COMMITTEE SEVAKS
The working committees will address specific tasks of the organization. Each working committee shall have a lead person that co-ordinates a group of volunteers to help in various functional and organizational aspects of the Temple / Mutt. The number of working committees will be increased in the future on a need basis. Also, specific task-based ad-hoc volunteer committees may be initiated by the executive committee in future for festivals and special occasions.
