Built in 1970, Tripura Government Museum is one of the finest tourist attractions that is adequately curated for visitors from different countries. The museum lies in Ujjayanta Palace and houses halls constituting of as many as 76 galleries. The total number of displays presented by the authority to the visitors are about 1,406, and include gold, silver and bronze coins, bronze statues, murals, terracotta plaques, stone inscriptions, copper plates, textiles and ornaments. The main objective of the museum is to protect and present the history of nature and man of the Northeastern part of India.
